Matcon Pacific recently hosted its first ever ‘open day’ event at its Guildford West facility in Sydney, showcasing the latest in lean powder manufacturing solutions.

The event was well attended across the powder processing industries, with delegates coming from Pfizer, Abel Metals, Nestlé, Symrise and many more.

Presentations were delivered on Matcon’s lean philosophy in powder processing, as well as our latest product developments. John Nesbitt of leading control system supplier Wayahead Systems presented on the subject of ingredients tracking with the Matcon IBC system.

‘Live’ demonstrations were also carried out during the day on the following key process modules:

  • FlexiBatch Micro for fully automatic recipe formulation of minor and micro additions
  • Sack tip to IBC transfer with sieving and weighing
  • Laboratory IBC mixing
  • B2B direct packing of bags

Positive feedback was received from all of the attendees on the organisation and content of the day’s programme. An IPad 2 was jointly donated by Matcon, equipment suppliers Amkco and Wayahead Systems. The lucky winner was the engineering manager of Steric Trading.
