April 2021 has seen an increase of 22.58% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.61% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2021, registering decrease of 0.99% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 71.88% in April 2021, a flat growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 12.5% in April 2021, marking a 100% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 6.25% in April 2021, a 33.33% drop from March 2021.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 6.25% in April 2021, a 71.43% decline over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in April 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 26.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during April 2021 over previous month.
ImmunoGen posted 7 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a decline of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Parexel International with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Syneos Health with 3 IT jobs and SSM DePaul Health Center with 3 jobs, recorded a 40% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while F. Hoffmann-La Roche recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during April 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 28.13% share in April 2021, an 18.18% decline over March 2021. Oman featured next with a 25% share, down 11.11% over the previous month. United Arab Emirates recorded a 12.5% share, a growth of 33.33% compared with March 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.63%, a flat growth from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.13% share, a decline of 43.75% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.25% share, down 50% over March 2021.
