October 2021 has seen a decrease of 11.07% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.66% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 59.17% in October 2021, a 25.65% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 14.99% in October 2021, marking an 11.54% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.95% in October 2021, a 54.29% rise from September 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 6.98% in October 2021, a 22.73% rise over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 6.31% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry during October 2021 over previous month.
GlaxoSmithKline posted 37 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 8.82% over the previous month, followed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 26 jobs and a 23.81% growth. Eli Lilly and with 20 IT jobs and Pfizer with 18 jobs, recorded an 11.11% rise and a 28% drop, respectively, while AstraZeneca recorded a 30.77% increase with 17 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 61.5% share in October 2021, a 2.15% increase over September 2021. China featured next with a 10.59% share, down 43.84% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 6.72% share, a drop of 58.06% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.24%, down by 17.99% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.94% share, registered a decline of 5.88% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.82% share, down 11.63% over September 2021.
