September 2021 has seen an increase of 0.48% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.56% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 64.24% in September 2021, a 23.37% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 13.9% in September 2021, marking a 27.38% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.52% in September 2021, a 44.07% drop from August 2021.

Top five pharma companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 12.35% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Parexel International posted 34 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 8.11% over the previous month, followed by GlaxoSmithKline with 34 jobs and a 13.33% growth. Bausch Health Companies with 27 IT jobs and Ministry of Health New South Wales with 24 jobs, recorded a 3.57% drop and a 47.83% drop, respectively, while Pfizer recorded a 9.52% increase with 23 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s pharma industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 48.29% share in September 2021, a 26.39% decrease over August 2021. Australia featured next with an 18% share, up 36.21% over the previous month. China recorded a 15.95% share, a drop of 21.35% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.64%, down by 23.4% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.42% share, registered a decline of 12.12% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.25% share, down 8.16% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.68%, recording a month-on-month growth of 200%.
