China’s pharma industry registered a 2.5% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.15% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.5% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 71.01% in November 2021, registering an 81.48% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 8.7% share, an increase of 50% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 7.25%, registering a 66.67% rise from October 2021.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 5.8%, up 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 261.54% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Parexel International posted 23 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 228.57% over the previous month, followed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 9 jobs and a 125% growth. GlaxoSmithKline with 7 IT jobs and Lonza Group with 5 jobs, recorded a 600% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Sanofi recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.52%, up by 30% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.19% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.39% share, up 140% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.9%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
