Europe witnessed a 9.1% rise in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
April 2022 has seen an increase of 11.13% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.85% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering an increase of 0.03% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 54.74% in April 2022, a 5.69% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.77% in April 2022, marking a 21.78% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.13% in April 2022, an 8.26% rise from March 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 7.69% in April 2022, a 53.85% rise over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 108.12% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s pharma industry during April 2022 over previous month.
F. Hoffmann-La Roche posted 147 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 600% over the previous month, followed by Sanofi with 75 jobs and a 33.93% growth. GlaxoSmithKline with 73 IT jobs and Fresenius SEKGaA with 63 jobs, recorded a 55.32% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Bayer recorded a 28.77% decline with 52 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s pharma industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 16.79% share in April 2022, an 11.02% increase over March 2022. Spain featured next with a 15.38% share, up 100% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 10.26% share, a drop of 20.79% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.03%, up by 22.91% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.46% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.87% share, down 4.94% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.64%, recording a month-on-month decline of 37.5%.
