The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.47% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.16% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.82% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry in May 2022.

Top five pharma companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.55% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
AstraZeneca posted 29 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a drop of 45.28% over the previous month, followed by GSK with 24 jobs and a 14.29% drop. Bayer with 19 IT jobs and Novo Nordisk with 16 jobs, recorded a 171.43% growth and a 15.79% decrease, respectively, while Merck recorded a decline of 23.53% with 13 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.07%, down by 6.9% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.44% share, registered a decline of 42.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.2% share, up 60% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.3%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
