Ireland’s pharma industry registered a 15.5% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.74% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.41% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.66% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Ireland’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Ireland’s pharma industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 32.14% in September 2021, registering a 50% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 28.57% share, a decrease of 20% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 17.86%, registering a 25% rise from August 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 10.71%, up 50% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Ireland’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 133.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Ireland’s pharma industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Johnson & Johnson posted 9 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 350% over the previous month, followed by AbbVie with 4 jobs and a 100% growth. Charles River Laboratories International with 3 IT jobs and Sanofi with 3 jobs, recorded a 200% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while MerckInc recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.14%, down by 27.27% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 32.14% share, registered a decline of 30.77% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.71% share, up 200% over August 2021.
