The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 12.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during September 2021 over previous month.

MerckInc posted 4 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by PSI CRO with 3 jobs and a flat growth. F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 3 IT jobs and Hypera with 2 jobs, recorded a 62.5% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while GlaxoSmithKline recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during September 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 25% share in September 2021, a 50% decrease over August 2021. Argentina featured next with a 25% share, down 12.5% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 21.43% share, a drop of 57.14% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.71%, down by 45.16% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 25% share, registered a growth of 250% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.29% share, down 42.86% over August 2021.
