Spain’s pharma industry registered a 16.1% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.64% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.88% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.95% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Spain’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain’s pharma industry in October 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.25% in October 2021, registering a 30.77% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 15.63% share, an increase of 150% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.63%, registering a 150% rise from September 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.25%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Spain’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 8.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain’s pharma industry during October 2021 over September 2021.

F. Hoffmann-La Roche posted 11 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 26.67% over the previous month, followed by Grifols with 7 jobs and a flat growth. Sanofi with 4 IT jobs and Bayer with 2 jobs, recorded a 55.56% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while ICON recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.38%, down by 5% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 34.38% share, registered an increase of 10% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.25% share, flat growth over September 2021.
