The US’s pharma industry registered a 1.4% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.81% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.84% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 42.77% in August 2022, registering a 14.47% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.08% share, an increase of 3.54% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.8%, registering a 5.01% rise from July 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 10.65%, up 47.73% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 9.61% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Evolent Health posted 392 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 223.97% over the previous month, followed by Intermountain Healthcare with 244 jobs and a 42.45% drop. The Hastings Center with 161 IT jobs and CVS Health with 145 jobs, recorded a 19.1% decline and a 31.82% growth, respectively, while Johnson & Johnson recorded an increase of 3.23% with 96 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.55%, up by 8.13% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.39% share, registered an increase of 4.79% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.67% share, up 24.19% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.39%, recording a month-on-month increase of 140%.
