The US’s pharma industry registered a 3.6% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.23% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.47% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.79% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.66% in September 2021, registering a 3.53% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 13.6% share, an increase of 30.12% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12.91%, registering a 17.26% decline from August 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 12.46%, down 3.52% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 12.76% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
HCA Healthcare posted 245 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 6.06% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 194 jobs and a 3.48% drop. Bausch Health Companies with 179 IT jobs and Oak Street Health with 94 jobs, recorded a 22.17% decline and a 36.91% decrease, respectively, while Chemed recorded a decline of 17.35% with 81 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.96%, down by 1.25% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.74% share, registered an increase of 7.99% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.53% share, down 8.79% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.78%, recording a month-on-month increase of 50%.
