While the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) conference may be over for another year, the editorial team at Pharmaceutical Technology are still buzzing from all the potentially paradigm-changing readouts debuted at the conference, with both peppy biotechs and big pharma players sharing some fascinating data.
During the five-day event, attendees gathered to find out about the latest in their disease area, with readouts spanning across haematological malignancies like multiple myeloma to solid tumours like non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and pancreatic cancer.
There was also a key focus on next-generation modalities at ASCO 2026, with medicines like antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), cancer vaccines, in vivo cell and gene therapies (CGTs) and bispecific antibodies taking centre stage. These drugs come to the limelight as cancer treatments become increasingly complex, and combination targeted plus chemotherapy approaches become the norm.
In this episode of the GlobalData Healthcare podcast, reporter Annabel Kartal-Allen welcomes senior GlobalData oncology analysts and ASCO 2026 attendees, Jack Cuthbertson and Selena Yu. Together, they discuss their highlights from the conference, both from the news desk and the show floor, while Jack and Selena share more about their busy stint at ASCO, and what was generating the most buzz from their perspective.
Jack and Selena also share their top three ‘wow moment’ readouts – detailing how these results may impact the future of the oncology sector moving forward, and if some of the high-anticipated presentations lived up to the hype.
