Podcast: key readouts from ESC and ERS

The healthcare team dive into the latest data and emerging trends from the ESC Congress and ERS Congress.

Robert Barrie September 10 2026

It's conference season again. In this episode, the healthcare team rounds up the latest readouts and emerging themes from two recent events: the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress and the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress.

In this episode, pharma editor Robert Barrie and reporter Annabel Kartal-Allen cover which drugs made the biggest waves, alongside academic studies presented at the events tackling wider-ranging topics.

Cholesterol-lowering drugs, for example, were a big area of focus at ESC. In July, MSD's Lipfendra (enlicitide) was approved in the US, marking a significant advancement for PCSK9 inhibitors. We cover the latest data for this class of drugs, as well as the continued utility of statins. For ERS, we dissect an important Phase II readout for Roivant Sciences' mosliciguat.

In other news, our podcast is moving to a regular weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping every Thursday to cover the latest across medtech, clinical trials, and pharmaceuticals.
