In the metalworking industry, the quality of the
coolant plays a particularly important role. The high
speeds necessary to machine workpieces produce temperatures of up to 1,000 °C. The coolants control the temperature of the workpiece and also remove the resulting swarf. For cost and environmental reasons, these coolants are recycled and are therefore usable for a considerably extended period. To ensure the quality of the metalworking, the coolant must be kept free of swarf and dirt particles. This is carried out in a filtering apparatus, which is equipped with fleeces or endless belts.

Since the low-cost fibre materials can be used only
once, they have to be disposed of after use at considerable
expense. Due to the composition of their material, endless-belt fabric filters are much more durable. Depending on the application and filtration product, they can easily be used for a much longer period and are therefore the cheaper and more environmentally-friendly solution. An optimally tuned filter medium not only has a long life, but also makes high productivity and reliable filtration possible.

Sefar® TETEX LF, the new generation of fabrics, combines
the properties of different types of fabric. This
unique combination fulfils all customer expectations
and sets new standards in coolant filtration. The
small mesh size of the filter layer provides optimal
filtration, while the open-weave supporting-layer
fabrics that provide the necessary stability also ensure
a long life. The special connection technology
provides a reliable connection and the selection of
an adhesive suitable for the coolant industry ensures
the two layers of different types of fabric do not become
separated in use.
