Aveva Drug Delivery Systems is pleased to announce that it has hired Paul Davis as director, alliance management and Jared Hahn as marketing manager. Both will join the business development department, reporting directly to Robert J. Bloder, vice president. Paul and Jared will greatly contribute to the company’s goals of globalization and the development of a well-balanced product pipeline that’s internally funded and will grow through internal development, as well as product and technology in-licensing and acquisitions.

Paul Davis – director, alliance management

Paul brings to Aveva over eight years of pharmaceutical industry experience working at the $8bn Beckman Coulter company. He began his career in the Cellular Analysis Business Group where he led hematology and flow cytometry research and development projects as a member of the program management department.

He recently received an MBA from the University of Florida and spent the last four years in Business Development & Alliance Management, where he was responsible for 30+ alliances, that ranged from formulation design and co-development to contract manufacturing, distribution and licensing arrangements.

Paul’s strong foundation in complex project management and regulatory compliance along with his proven skills in business contracts and relationship management will be essential to the company’s globalization efforts.

Jared Hahn – marketing manager

Prior to joining Aveva, Jared worked for over eight years at Technology Catalysts International (TCI), a global consultancy focused in the life sciences industries. At TCI, he managed all aspects of the company’s pharmaceutical and drug delivery services for its multinational pharmaceutical and chemical clients, including the marketing of TCI services to pharmaceutical companies, as well as related disciplines within the Venture Capital & Investment Banking community. Jared has authored several in-depth market and technology reviews on specific areas within drug delivery such as ‘Orally Disintegrating Tablet and Film Technologies, Microneedle and Other Active Transdermal Systems’.

Prior to joining Technology Catalysts in 2002, he worked as a research scientist for the Genetics and IVF Institute where he was involved with andrology research and gender selection for the company’s MicroSort division. Jared holds a BS in Molecular Biology and Chemistry from Vanderbilt University and is an active member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES), the American Association for Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the Controlled Release Society (CRS).
