Unither Pharmaceuticals, a global leader in sterile liquid pharmaceutical formulations, has successfully launched the first commercial batches of Preservative-Free Multidose (PFMD) ophthalmic products at its Laboratoire Unither Coutances site in Normandy, France.

The PFMD format enables the packaging of ophthalmic products without the need for chemical preservatives, ensuring protection against microbial contamination through a secure, hermetic delivery system.

The launch of PFMD ophthalmic products represents a significant milestone for Unither Pharmaceuticals. The manufacturing process is supported by GMP-compliant technology at the Coutances facility. The site specialises in flexible batch sizes, ranging from 3l to 2,000l, ensuring scalability to meet the needs of both clinical trials and large-scale commercial production.
