UK-based company AstraZeneca’s IT hiring increased by 28.5% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 6.53% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 5.81% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 1.43% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops AstraZeneca IT hiring in July 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by AstraZeneca, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 58.9% in July 2021, and a 59.26% growth over June 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 17.12% in July 2021, and registered a 78.57% an increase. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 10.27% in July 2021, a 25% rise from June 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at AstraZeneca

North America emerged as the leading region in the global pharma IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 36.99% share, which marked a 38.46% growth over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 35.62%, registering a 73.33% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 26.03% share and a 100% growth over June 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.37% and a month-on-month an increase of 100%.

Mexico commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 25.34% share in July 2021, a 68.18% growth over June 2021. India featured next with a 19.86% share, up 81.25% over the previous month.United Kingdom recorded a 19.86% share, an increase of 93.33% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead AstraZeneca IT hiring activity in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.6%, up by 100% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.86% share, a decline of 3.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.48% share, up 33.33% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.05%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
