Ireland pharma industry registered an 11.6% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 4.77% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.5% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.87% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 41.03% in June 2021, a 23.08% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 17.95% share, an increase of 16.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.38%, registering a 25% decline from May 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 10.26%, up 300% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 53.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Ireland pharma industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Intermountain Healthcare posted 5 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 25% over the previous month, followed by Eli Lilly and with 5 jobs and a 25% growth. Johnson & Johnson with 4 IT jobs and Takeda Pharmaceutical with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while MerckInc recorded a 40% decline with 3 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.28%, down by 16.67% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 41.03% share, a growth of 77.78% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.69% share, flat growth over May 2021.
