The US pharma industry registered a 0.3% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.09% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.46% share in July 2021, recording decrease of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US pharma industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 42.29% in July 2021, an 8.57% drop over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 15.12% share, an increase of 2.58% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.94%, registering a 5.67% decline from June 2021.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 12.88%, down 3.15% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the US IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 13.72% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US pharma industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
HCA Healthcare posted 218 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 19.78% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 159 jobs and a 7.02% drop. Oak Street Health with 127 IT jobs and Bausch Health Companies with 121 jobs, recorded a 56.79% growth and a 10% increase, respectively, while Chemed recorded a 3.28% increase with 63 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.26%, down by 6.24% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.74% share, a decline of 5.65% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.16% share, up 14.06% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.84%, recording a month-on-month decline of 31.25%.
