April 2021 has seen an increase of 0.43% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2021.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 44.56% in April 2021, a 0.52% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 13.93% in April 2021, marking a 3.19% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.38% in April 2021, a 3.64% growth from March 2021.

Top five pharma companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in April 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 85.93% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s pharma industry during April 2021 over previous month.
HCA Healthcare posted 187 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a an increase of 112.5% over the previous month, followed by WellSky with 99 jobs and a 167.57% growth. Takeda Pharmaceutical with 81 IT jobs and Chemed with 68 jobs, recorded a 575% growth and a 21.43% increase, respectively, while AbbVie recorded a 12.99% decline with 67 job postings during April 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s pharma industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 96.28% share in April 2021, a 6.12% rise over March 2021. Canada featured next with a 2.46% share, down 32.98% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.25% share, a growth of 45.45% compared with March 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.75%, up by 35.03% from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.98% share, a decline of 28.15% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.86% share, down 50.49% over March 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.41%, recording a month-on-month growth of 24.14%.
