IT jobs accounted for a 2.39% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 41.18% in June 2021, a 46.15% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 20.59% in June 2021, marking a 41.67% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 17.65% in June 2021, a 50% growth from May 2021.

Top five pharma companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 29.17% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during June 2021 over previous month.
F. Hoffmann-La Roche posted 5 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 25% over the previous month, followed by Premera Blue Cross with 4 jobs and a 100% growth. Pfizer with 4 IT jobs and Eli Lilly and with 2 jobs, recorded a 69.23% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while MerckInc recorded a 60% decline with 2 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 35.29% share in June 2021, a 9.09% rise over May 2021. Argentina featured next with a 20.59% share, down 12.5% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 14.71% share, a drop of 75% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.53%, down by 39.02% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.71% share, a decline of 37.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.76% share, up 33.33% over May 2021.
