IT jobs accounted for a 3.47% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.52% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 45.28% in July 2021, an 118.18% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.09% in July 2021, marking a 33.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 15.09% in July 2021, a 100% growth from June 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 766.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Johnson & Johnson posted 7 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered an increase of 250% over the previous month, followed by Cardinal Health with 7 jobs and a flat growth. Agilon Health with 5 IT jobs and Oak Street Health with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while GlaxoSmithKline recorded a 200% increase with 3 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 33.96% share in July 2021, a 38.46% rise over June 2021. Costa Rica featured next with a 22.64% share, up 140% over the previous month. Uruguay recorded a 9.43% share, a flat growth compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 50.94%, up by 22.73% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.53% share, a growth of 333.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 24.53% share, up 160% over June 2021.
