Australia’s pharma industry registered a 3.6% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 13.03% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.23% share in December 2021, recording a decrease of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.83% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s pharma industry in December 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 37.5% in December 2021, registering a 37.93% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 20.83% share, a decrease of 23.08% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 20.83%, registering a 23.08% decline from November 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 10.42%, down 16.67% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 16% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s pharma industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

Ministry of Health, New South Wales, Australia posted 29 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 38.3% over the previous month, followed by Genesis Care with 7 jobs and a flat growth. Charles River Laboratories International with 2 IT jobs and CSL with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% growth, respectively, while F. Hoffmann-La Roche recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during December 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.33%, up by 2.56% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 10.42% share, registered a decline of 54.55% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.25% share, down 75% over November 2021.
