Australia’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 10.6% in January 2022

Australia’s pharma industry registered a 10.6% rise in IT hiring activity in January 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.38% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.49% share in January 2022, recording an increase of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.


Top five job classifications in Australia’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.04% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s pharma industry in January 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50.98% in January 2022, registering an 18.18% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.53% share, an increase of 20% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9.8%, registering a flat growth from December 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.84%, down 20% over the previous month.


Top five pharma companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s pharma industry during January 2022 over December 2022.

Ministry of Health, New South Wales, Australia posted 33 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered a rise of 13.79% over the previous month, followed by Ramsay Health Care with 4 jobs and a 100% growth. Charles River Laboratories International with 3 IT jobs and Genesis Care with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a 76.92% decrease, respectively, while Novotech Australia recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during January 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.47%, down by 13.33% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.65% share, registered an increase of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.88% share, flat growth over December 2022.
