China’s pharma industry registered a 2.2% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.79% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.58% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 75% in June 2022, registering a 5% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed an 8.93% share, a decrease of 50% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 7.14%, registering a 300% rise from May 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 5.36%, down 40% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 24.32% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Parexel International posted 21 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 5% over the previous month, followed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 10 jobs and a 150% growth. Johnson & Johnson with 8 IT jobs and GSK with 5 jobs, recorded a 300% growth and a 25% growth, respectively, while Pfizer recorded a decline of 71.43% with 2 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.14%, up by 2.22% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.29% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Senior job ads with 1.79% share, flat growth over May 2022, while Entry Level postings accounted for 1.79%, recording a month-on-month decline of 75%.
