China’s pharma industry registered a 36.8% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.97% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.22% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.68% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 73.33% in September 2022, registering a 79.44% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 13.33% share, an increase of 300% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 6.67%, registering a 33.33% decline from August 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 3.33%, down 80% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 75.76% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Parexel International posted 11 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 87.5% over the previous month, followed by Pfizer with 7 jobs and a 40% growth. MerckInc with 2 IT jobs and Novo Nordisk with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 50% decrease, respectively, while F. Hoffmann-La Roche recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 86.67%, down by 75.47% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.33% share, registered a decline of 63.64% compared with the previous month.
