Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 40.12% in November 2022, a 4.74% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 32.73% in November 2022, marking a 66.12% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 10.58% in November 2022, a 58.59% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 55.73% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s pharma industry during November 2022 over previous month.
PSI CRO posted 78 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered an increase of 21.88% over the previous month, followed by Your World Healthcare with 71 jobs and an 82.25% drop. Eurofins Scientific with 51 IT jobs and AstraZeneca with 24 jobs, recorded a 15.91% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while MerckInc recorded an 11.54% decline with 23 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s pharma industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 30.34% share in November 2022, a 70.77% decrease over October 2022. Germany featured next with an 8.18% share, down 10.87% over the previous month. Poland recorded a 6.99% share, a drop of 43.55% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.45%, down by 55.23% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.37% share, registered a decline of 34.31% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 12.97% share, up 1.56% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.2%, recording a month-on-month decline of 88.89%.
