Europe witnessed a 2.6% drop in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
July 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.25% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.99% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 39.66% in July 2022, a 12.23% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 22.56% in July 2022, marking a 13.04% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 16.73% in July 2022, a 6.32% drop from June 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 14.85% in July 2022, a 28.83% decline over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 0.99% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s pharma industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Eurofins Scientific posted 68 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 13.92% over the previous month, followed by Takeda Pharmaceutical with 47 jobs and a 104.35% growth. Johnson & Johnson with 30 IT jobs and Sanofi with 29 jobs, recorded a 50% drop and a 314.29% rise, respectively, while AstraZeneca recorded a 21.21% decline with 26 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s pharma industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 17.29% share in July 2022, a 6.12% decrease over June 2022. Poland featured next with a 9.59% share, up 15.91% over the previous month. Germany recorded an 8.65% share, a drop of 37.84% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.17%, down by 9.58% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.29% share, registered a decline of 8% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.16% share, up 4.48% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.38%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
