December 2021 has seen a decrease of 4.53% in the overall hiring activity when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.19% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in December 2021, registering an increase of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in December 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 51.96% in December 2021, a 21.29% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.34% in December 2021, marking a 14.94% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 15.52% in December 2021, a 29.1% drop from November 2021.

Top five pharma companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 14.43% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s pharma industry during December 2021 over previous month.
GlaxoSmithKline posted 64 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Bayer with 43 jobs and a 59.26% growth. Sanofi with 42 IT jobs and PSI CRO with 37 jobs, recorded a 20% rise and a 12.12% rise, respectively, while MerckInc recorded a 29.41% decline with 36 job postings during December 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s pharma industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 20.42% share in December 2021, a 2.46% increase over November 2021. The UK featured next with a 16.01% share, down 6.67% over the previous month. Poland recorded an 11.11% share, a growth of 17.24% compared with November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, down by 15.18% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.2% share, registered a decline of 7.19% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.66% share, down 33.75% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.47%, recording a month-on-month growth of 80%.
