Germany’s pharma industry registered a 7.3% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.76% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.48% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry in September 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60% in September 2021, registering a 17.02% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.46% share, a decrease of 7.69% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.92%, registering a 26.67% decline from August 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 3.08%, down 85.71% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 16.98% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Fresenius SEKGaA posted 12 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 1100% over the previous month, followed by CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. with 12 jobs and a 66.67% drop. Bausch Health Companies with 11 IT jobs and Merck with 5 jobs, recorded a 10% flat growth and a 66.67% flat growth, respectively, while F. Hoffmann-La Roche recorded an increase of 33.33% with 4 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.31%, down by 39.74% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.38% share, registered an increase of 42.86% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.31% share, up 33.33% over August 2021.
