Germany’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 9.5% in March 2022

Germany’s pharma industry registered a 9.5% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.41% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.87% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry in March 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.14% in March 2022, registering a 67.44% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.05% share, an increase of 40% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 12.78%, registering a 13.33% rise from February 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.77%, up 80% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 66.07% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s pharma industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Bayer posted 36 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. with 29 jobs and an 11.54% growth. Merck with 12 IT jobs and BioNTech with 8 jobs, recorded a 140% growth and a 14.29% growth, respectively, while Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries & Medical Appliances recorded a flat growth with 8 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.67%, up by 73.08% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.55% share, registered an increase of 8.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.78% share, up 70% over February 2022.
