India’s pharma industry registered a 1.2% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.79% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.98% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.84% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 101.15% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 62.31% in March 2022, registering a 10% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 23.08% share, an increase of 13.21% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.54%, registering a 42.86% rise from February 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 2.69%, down 30% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 14.41% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s pharma industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Novo Nordisk posted 33 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 5.71% over the previous month, followed by Bayer with 32 jobs and a 128.57% growth. GlaxoSmithKline with 29 IT jobs and Eli Lilly and with 21 jobs, recorded a 16% growth and a 12.5% decrease, respectively, while Merck recorded a flat growth with 20 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.08%, down by 7.38% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 38.46% share, registered a decline of 7.41% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.54% share, up 6.25% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.92%, recording a month-on-month increase of 400%.
