US-based company MerckInc’s IT hiring declined 5.2% in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 2.8% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 4.86% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2022, and recorded a 0.95% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops MerckInc IT hiring in October 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by MerckInc, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 36.23% in October 2022, and a 39.02% drop over September 2022, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 23.19% in October 2022, and registered growth of 45.45%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.84% in October 2022, a 55.17% drop from September 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at MerckInc

North America emerged as the leading region in the global pharma IT hiring activity in October 2022 with a 53.62% share, which marked a 41.27% drop over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 37.68%, registering a flat month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 7.25% share and a 37.5% drop over September 2022.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.45% and a month-on-month flat growth.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 53.62% share in October 2022, a 41.27% decline over September 2022. Czech Republic featured next with a 14.49% share, down 28.57% over the previous month. Ireland recorded an 8.7% share, an increase of 100% compared with September 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead MerckInc IT hiring activity in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, down by 31.34% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.04% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 11.59% share, down 61.9% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 8.7%, recording a month-on-month increase of 200%.
