US-based company MerckInc’s IT hiring rose 9.3% in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 26.42% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 5.33% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2022, and recorded a 0.66% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops MerckInc IT hiring in September 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by MerckInc, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 40.66% in September 2022, and a 164.29% rise over August 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 29.67% in September 2022, and registered growth of 107.69%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 10.99% in September 2022, a 150% rise from August 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at MerckInc

North America emerged as the leading region in the global pharma IT hiring activity in September 2022 with a 60.44% share, which marked a 150% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 28.57%, registering an 18.18% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with an 8.79% share and a 166.67% rise over August 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.1% and a month-on-month flat growth. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.1%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 60.44% share in September 2022, a 150% growth over August 2022. Czech Republic featured next with a 15.38% share, down 12.5% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 6.59% share, an increase of 200% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead MerckInc IT hiring activity in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.03%, up by 74.29% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.88% share, a growth of 137.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.89% share, up 80% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.2%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
