October 2021 has seen an increase of 2.92% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.16% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering a decrease of 0.66% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 73.68% in October 2021, a 16.67% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 21.05% in October 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 5.26% in October 2021, a flat growth from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 87.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during October 2021 over previous month.

Parexel International posted 5 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 28.57% over the previous month, followed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. Cardinal Health with 2 IT jobs and Abt Associates with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while MMS Holdings recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 47.37% share in October 2021, an 18.18% decrease over September 2021. Lebanon featured next with a 15.79% share, flat growth over the previous month. United Arab Emirates recorded a 10.53% share, a flat growth compared with September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.63%, up by 100% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 36.84% share, registered a decline of 22.22% compared with the previous month.
