October 2022 has seen an increase of 7.41% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.43% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.95% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 64.71% in October 2022, a 21.43% drop over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 11.76% in October 2022, marking a 100% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.76% in October 2022, a flat growth from September 2022.
Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 5.88% in October 2022, a flat growth over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 50% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Parexel International posted 4 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Mediclinic International with 3 jobs and a 50% drop. Twist Bioscience with 3 IT jobs and F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while TytoCare recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 29.41% share in October 2022, a 44.44% decrease over September 2022. Israel featured next with a 23.53% share, up 100% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 17.65% share, a growth of 200% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.94%, down by 25% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 35.29% share, registered a growth of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.76% share, down 75% over September 2022.
