Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 44.25% in October 2021, a 5.83% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.28% in October 2021, marking a 22.74% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.36% in October 2021, a 5.83% rise from September 2021.

Top five pharma companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 9.3% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s pharma industry during October 2021 over previous month.
HCA Healthcare posted 241 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 3.6% over the previous month, followed by Bausch Health Companies with 240 jobs and a 34.08% growth. CVS Health with 188 IT jobs and Oak Street Health with 112 jobs, recorded a 3.09% drop and a 19.15% rise, respectively, while McKesson recorded a 13.24% increase with 77 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s pharma industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 95.92% share in October 2021, a 2.11% decrease over September 2021. Canada featured next with a 2.83% share, up 1.09% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.25% share, a growth of 141.18% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.57%, down by 0.16% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.44% share, registered a decline of 7.06% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.02% share, up 2.29% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.97%, recording a month-on-month growth of 28%.
