South & Central America witnessed a 13.9% rise in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

April 2022 has seen a decrease of 0.73% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.66% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering an increase of 1.03% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 43.75% in April 2022, a 47.37% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 21.88% in April 2022, marking a 27.27% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.06% in April 2022, a 28.57% rise from March 2022.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 12.5% in April 2022, a 33.33% rise over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 355.56% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during April 2022 over previous month.

F. Hoffmann-La Roche posted 18 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Johnson & Johnson with 8 jobs and a 166.67% growth. GlaxoSmithKline with 7 IT jobs and MerckInc with 4 jobs, recorded a 600% rise and a 300% rise, respectively, while Pfizer recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during April 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry

Costa Rica commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 39.06% share in April 2022, a 212.5% increase over March 2022. Brazil featured next with a 26.56% share, down 10.53% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 21.88% share, a growth of 100% compared with March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.06%, up by 36.67% from March 2022. Entry Level positions with a 28.13% share, registered a growth of 200% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.81% share, down 37.5% over March 2022.
