Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 42.55% in October 2022, a 53.85% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 23.4% in October 2022, marking a 15.38% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 17.02% in October 2022, a 27.27% drop from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 18.18% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Syneos Health posted 9 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 125% over the previous month, followed by Eurofins Scientific with 7 jobs and a 30% drop. Pfizer with 4 IT jobs and Haleon with 3 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while AstraZeneca recorded a 50% decline with 3 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 36.17% share in October 2022, a flat growth over September 2022. Costa Rica featured next with a 34.04% share, down 15.79% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 10.64% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.47%, up by 12.9% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.89% share, registered a decline of 22.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.51% share, down 33.33% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.13%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
