Switzerland’s pharma industry registered a 2.3% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.62% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.74% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.53% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Switzerland’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry in August 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 40% in August 2022, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25.71% share, an increase of 12.5% over the previous month.
3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 22.86%, registering a 14.29% rise from July 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.71%, down 50% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 27.27% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Octapharma posted 14 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Johnson & Johnson with 7 jobs and a 75% growth. Idorsia Pharmaceutical with 3 IT jobs and Lonza Group with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a 200% growth, respectively, while Medartis recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.86%, up by 16% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with an 11.43% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with 2.86% share, flat growth over July 2022, while Entry Level postings accounted for 2.86%, recording a month-on-month decline of 87.5%.
