Switzerland’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 66.3% in April 2022

Switzerland’s pharma industry registered a 66.3% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 32.19% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.46% share in April 2022, recording an increase of 0.75% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Switzerland’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.65% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry in April 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.49% in April 2022, registering a 237.5% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 31.08% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 18.92%, registering a 1300% rise from March 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 8.11%, up 20% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 966.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s pharma industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

Octapharma posted 32 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 25 jobs and a 733.33% growth. Lonza Group with 3 IT jobs and Bristol-Myers Squibb with 2 jobs, recorded a 200% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Takeda Pharmaceutical recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.97%, up by 500% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.22% share, registered an increase of 140% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.46% share, up 600% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.35%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
