The UK’s pharma industry registered a 2.8% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.94% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.47% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.32% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s pharma industry in May 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.67% in May 2022, registering an 18.52% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 21.67% share, an increase of 116.67% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 21.67%, registering an 8.33% rise from April 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10%, down 33.33% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 56% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s pharma industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
AstraZeneca posted 16 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by GSK with 8 jobs and a 27.27% drop. Bausch Health Companies with 8 IT jobs and Indivior with 4 jobs, recorded a 33.33% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Syneos Health recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.33%, down by 2.22% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.33% share, registered an increase of 22.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.33% share, flat growth over April 2022.
