The UK’s pharma industry registered a 4.4% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 11.68% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.03% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 0.7% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 101.02% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s pharma industry in December 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.22% in December 2021, registering a 13.21% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.27% share, a decrease of 48% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 10.2%, registering a 42.86% rise from November 2021.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 10.2%, down 16.67% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 33.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s pharma industry during December 2021 over November 2021.
Labgenius posted 16 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a rise of 1500% over the previous month, followed by GlaxoSmithKline with 15 jobs and a 6.25% drop. Bausch Health Companies with 11 IT jobs and Norgine with 8 jobs, recorded a 26.67% decline and a 166.67% growth, respectively, while Charles River Laboratories International recorded a decline of 14.29% with 6 job postings during December 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.51%, flat growth from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.33% share, registered a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.14% share, down 22.22% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.02%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
