The UK’s pharma industry registered a 38.2% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 63.93% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.37% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 2.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.48% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s pharma industry in October 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 55.48% in October 2022, registering a 123.38% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 12.26% share, a decrease of 19.15% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 11.61%, registering a 100% rise from September 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10%, up 3.33% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 116.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s pharma industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Your World Healthcare posted 197 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 173.61% over the previous month, followed by Bausch Health Companies with 28 jobs and a 12.5% drop. Haleon with 10 IT jobs and AstraZeneca with 9 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Genomics England recorded an increase of 133.33% with 7 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 88.71%, up by 77.42% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with an 8.06% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 2.9% share, down 47.06% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.32%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
