The US’s pharma industry registered a 10.% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.4% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.65% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.98% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 34.27% in October 2022, registering a 46.78% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 17.63% share, a decrease of 51.54% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.95%, registering a 37.46% decline from September 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 14.65%, down 14.39% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 25.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Evolent Health posted 166 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 57.44% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 151 jobs and a 12.72% drop. Bausch Health Companies with 126 IT jobs and Eurofins Scientific with 102 jobs, recorded a 24.55% decline and a 229.03% growth, respectively, while Hastings Center recorded an increase of 2.41% with 85 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.07%, down by 40.75% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.13% share, registered a decline of 42.27% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.19% share, down 19.81% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.61%, recording a month-on-month increase of 16.67%.
