The US’s pharma industry registered a 15.6% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 11.32% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.57% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.37% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 31.47% in November 2022, registering a 42.48% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 23.8% share, a decrease of 10.71% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 20.83%, registering a 28.19% decline from October 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 11.31%, down 44.04% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 9.89% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Intermountain Healthcare posted 269 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 55.49% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 125 jobs and a 17.22% drop. Bausch Health Companies with 84 IT jobs and Laboratoryof America Holdings with 57 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and a 9.52% decrease, respectively, while Hastings Center recorded a decline of 68.55% with 39 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.42%, down by 43.38% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.89% share, registered a decline of 15.55% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.3% share, down 33.97% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.39%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
