The US’s pharma industry registered a 3.0% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.96% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.92% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.54% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.12% in June 2022, registering a 17.89% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 28.07% share, an increase of 6.92% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.96%, registering a 20.28% decline from May 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.37%, down 24.64% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 6.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Intermountain Healthcare posted 408 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 73.62% over the previous month, followed by Evolent Health with 256 jobs and a 58.37% drop. Johnson & Johnson with 142 IT jobs and The Hastings Center with 140 jobs, recorded a 255% growth and a 26.13% growth, respectively, while CVS Health recorded a decline of 10.26% with 140 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.25%, down by 11.02% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.57% share, registered a decline of 4.07% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.85% share, down 27.88% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.32%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
