The US’s pharma industry registered a 6.6% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.92% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.73% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.95% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 39.75% in September 2022, registering a 7.85% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 22.74% share, an increase of 64.62% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.59%, registering a 15.41% decline from August 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.67%, up 55.16% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 43.49% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Intermountain Healthcare posted 685 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 180.74% over the previous month, followed by Evolent Health with 390 jobs and a 0.76% drop. CVS Health with 173 IT jobs and Bausch Health Companies with 167 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 128.77% growth, respectively, while The Hastings Center recorded a decline of 48.45% with 83 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.12%, up by 25.72% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.36% share, registered an increase of 6.36% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.14% share, down 8.48% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.33%, recording a month-on-month decline of 20%.
