The US’s pharma industry registered a 0.9% rise in IT hiring activity in January 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.72% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.16% share in January 2022, recording an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in January 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.06% in January 2022, registering a 20.06% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 17.14% share, an increase of 23.48% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.57%, registering a 1.27% decline from December 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.77%, down 19.67% over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 19.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during January 2022 over December 2022.
Evolent Health posted 532 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered a drop of 36.67% over the previous month, followed by Intermountain Healthcare with 295 jobs and a 3.91% drop. CVS Health with 211 IT jobs and The Hastings Center with 188 jobs, recorded a 1.44% growth and a 7.43% growth, respectively, while Oak Street Health recorded a decline of 16.77% with 134 job postings during January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.37%, down by 12.45% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.37% share, registered a decline of 1.76% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.14% share, down 18.27% over December 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.11%, recording a month-on-month decline of 56.41%.
